Frustrated with National Grid/conversion
We had National Grid come to our house on Monday to do an estimate/proposal for a conversion to gas - we already have gas in the house, we'd just be converting our heating system from oil to gas. It is now Friday and we haven't heard back from them. The gentleman that came said that he would e-mail us that night (meaning Monday).
Is it weird that they never contacted us?

Re: Frustrated with National Grid/conversion
I have been trying to get them to pull up the gas line for like 3 months. Only last week did I see spray paint in front of the house. I called in and the guy I have been talking to was like "They still haven't done it?!".
Before I found him I called this woman daily and left v.mail's, she didn't get back to me for almost a month.
They are not easy to work with IMO.

Re: Frustrated with National Grid/conversion
We did not got to them directly.
We went through a company. They took care of everything but it still took about 1 month from the estimate time (that was done instantly with the company) to finishing the project. Permit was done within 7-10 days.
Why are you going through National grid directly?

Re: Frustrated with National Grid/conversion
If you already have gas in the house you do not need National Grid at all.
You can use anmy company you want to do the conversion.

Re: Frustrated with National Grid/conversion
if you dont mind me asking - what is the range for quotes for conversion when gas is already in the house? (once Nat'l grid answers you.....and if anyone else wants to chime in)
I have a gas oven & dryer...so would just need the heating system changed over to gas.
