Hyperstim precautions?
RE just called. I triggered last night and my ER is tomorrow. They said my estradiol levels were pretty high and, because I'm very petite, they're concerned that I might hyperstim. They prescribed something I'm supposed to start taking today. Is there anything else that can help prevent hyperstimming? I remember reading something about Gatorade, but can't quite recall what it was for or when to drink it.

Re: Hyperstim precautions?
I never actually hyperstimmed, but my E2 levels were well over 5,000 so they were super nervous about it. I was also given medicine to help prevent it.
I had my ER on Saturday and felt uncomfortably bloated on Monday. I made sure to eat small meals during this time. If you eat even a normal sized meal, you may feel uncomfortable. I did drink some gatorade, but to be honest I hate it so I was not consuming large quantities of it and my doctor actually just told me to stay well hydrated and to eat a protein based diet and wear loose, comfortable clothing.

Thanks so much for the response. I don't have that many follicles, so I was caught off-guard when I received the call about their concerns. I guess E2 can be high even without tons of follies.

Re: Hyperstim precautions?
I had 19-20 follicles so that accounted for my high E2. If you have PCOS that can also account for it. My nurse said since I am tall and thin I am at a higher risk as well. I was one low doses of everything as well and had to be very closely monitored...
Best of luck

I don't have PCOS, but I'm tiny (5'2 and 104lbs) and was on a super aggressive protocol.

Re: Hyperstim precautions?
theres nothing you can do to avoid it, only manage it if it happens. gatorade and anything with electrolytes helps with that. also eat small meals instead of large ones, you get VERY bloated and its painful. it almost feels like you cant take deep breaths, especially when you are full.
good luck!
