Ladies Near or Past Week 22

We are moving into our new place within the next 2 weeks (fingers crossed it doesn't get pushed back again). So for argument's sake let's say by the begining of June.

I want to have a 4th of July BBQ for my immediate family (10 adults, 3 teenagers, 6 kids). Usually we do it at my parent's house since it's my dad and grandpa's birthdays. I thought it would be nice to have it at our new place as a bday party and house warming.

So my question is this: Will I have to energy to, not only pull off the party, but also to get the house in order before the party date? How are you ladies feeling around week 22?

The menu is not too labor intensive and many of the dishes can be done a day or two before. DH will be taking care of the BBQ, so I don't need to worry about that.

TIA!

Re: Ladies Near or Past Week 22

I'm 30 wks tomorrow. I felt awesome @ 22wks and to be honest, I still do. My only advice is to make sure you take rests to put your feet up and drink water throughout the day. My biggest prob at that point was that I still wasnt used to the new limitations pregnancy put on my body so I often tired myself out. As long as you dont try and do it all by yourself and let others help, you should be good.

I think that week 22 is the perfect time to host something. I was feeling pretty good at that point. That's about when we went on our mini-babymoon to AC. I got tired somewhat easier than usual, but it wasn't bad. Just make sure to give yourself breaks and keep hydrated, especially in the heat!

Thanks everyone!!

I was just worried b/c this pregnancy is so much different than my last. I felt great all 40 weeks last time and this one has not been as easy.

I don't know. I just hosted Mother's Day at 23 weeks. We did brunch. I didn't make that much stuff (2 quiches, a salad, fruit salad, and muffins from scratch) and I was beat afterwards. My body hurt a little bit, but I was more just overall exhausted.

That's what I'm worried about. Did you do it all in one da? I was hoping if I spread it out over a few days and delegated a few things to DH and my sisters then it wouldn't be so bad.

I'm sure you will be tired afterward, but I can still do everything I used to...I'm having a BBQ next week and I'll be 23weeks, I'll let you know how I do.
