kitchen question
Has anyone purchased there kitchen from Lowe's and if so did you shop around before doing so? We have only looked at lowes so far and the cabinets look really nice and are made in America which i like.. I am not sure if they are the best price seem a little $$ but have nothing to compare it to. Thanks for the input :)

Re: kitchen question
When I looked at cabinets I checked lowes and home depot. Both were more expensive than comsumers and with comsumers I was getting more upgrades.

Re: kitchen question
I almost purchased my cabinets from Lowe's.. their price was just about the same as Home Depot.. but I really liked my designer at Home Depot much better.
I actually had the opposite experience from the above poster.. I went to Consumer's first and had a contractor discount - but found that their prices (even with the discount) were higher than HD. I guess it all depends on when you go and what you want?
For your own reference.. my cabinets were about 7-8K including all upgrades (super susans, soft close doors and drawers, moulding, skins, trim, etc). I got a glazed design with raised panels, 5 point mitered design, all wood construction. Exactly what I wanted.

Re: kitchen question
Kitchen Depot was much cheaper for my bathroom remodel and better quality cabinets. They had much more flexibility with sze of cabinet as weel. We used HD for my Kitchen and now I wish I would have went with kitchen depot!

Same experience here. We are very happy with Consumers!

Re: kitchen question
We went to lowes, HD and comsumers. We got the best price for a small kitchen place. Think Kitchen in Huntington, we worked with the owner and he has been great!

Re: kitchen question
We went to both HD and Lowes but preferred the quality at HD. We got a lot of free upgrades when we ordered our cabinets. Our contractor did the installation so I can't comment on their work that way. The ordering process was a breeze and the consultant was great to work with. We went with Thomasville cabinetry which is their high end cabinets.

Re: kitchen question
I used HD for everything and had a good experience. I tried Consumers (never returned my emails), Think Kitchen (designer would only discuss 1 brand of cabinets) and a couple other places. I think you first should decide your budget than you can decide on cabinets. If you look at my previous posts you can see what I spent.

Re: kitchen question
Thanks for the advice! I will try HD and Kitchen depot. Does anyone have a specific HD they can recommend and designer? I went to the Lowe's in bayshore and really liked the man with met with.
As far as the budget we are doing a whole house remodel so we have some money to play with for the kitchen but i dont want to break the bank because we also have 3 bathrooms to do as well.

I worked with Luisa in the Holbrook/Patchogue store at HD Gateway Plaza on the corner of Sunrise and Waverly. She was fantastic!

Re: kitchen question
Don't be afraid to stop into a showroom where the designers are certified. Yes, they may do very high end work/custom cabinetry for those that have that kind of budget; however, most people don’t realize that a certified kitchen designer's specialty and expertise truly help those on a smaller budget. You may be happily surprised to get a higher quality product, a better design, and more options and features for that same budget. The Kitchen Designs Blog might be helpful to you in the planning stages.
