Mother's Day
How are you planning on celebrating mother's day this year?
I don't have any children other than this little Turnip in my belly and don't really feel like i should be doing anything special. I told everyone i don't mind getting a card if they really want to get one, but i don't want any gifts.

Re: Mother's Day
We're actually breaking the news to both sets of parents, so while the celebration will be more for them, I can't wait to see everyone's reaction!

Re: Mother's Day
Going by my Mom's then to see my Aunt/Grandma (they live together). No one will know about the pregnancy; so it will be quiet for me and all about them.

Re: Mother's Day
We will be having brunch with my family, then dinner with DH's. I don't know if anyone is getting me cards or anything, and I don't care. I am just thrilled that for the first Mother's Day in a few years, I am not dealing with IF, and I will be a mother a month later. I have struggled at lot for the past couple of Mother's Day, so it will be nice just to be happy. I consider my first Mother's Day the one after I have my .

Re: Mother's Day
Hoping to be in the hospital holding my new little man. But if he is not here by then I'll be home with the hubby my 1st DS and my doggies. DH will probably cook or get my choice of take out. His parents are in PA and my mom will be working so we wont see either of them.

Awwww so happy for you!!! You're going to be sitting there at brunch thinking wow... how different everything feels just one year later. :) I didn't strugle with IF at all but at least I imagine that's how you'll be feeling. So sweet!!!
No idea what I'll be doing as DH and I live OOS and I think he's working on Sunday... Oh well! He will think of something sweet I'm sure. I'm really looking forward to this weekend though because tomorrow marks the end of my masters program at Georgetown so now I can really relax and not have a weekend full of studying!

We're not doing anything special, probably having dinner with MIL and DH's family. It will be exciting to think I don't have to sit there depressed when everyone else in DH's fam is already a mom though Every year I felt like I was getting either the pity looks or the line of questioning, so this year I will just enjoy it, no interrogation needed!

Such a cute way of telling them! Hopefully they get it, I gave my mom a grandma book to tell her and she had no clue (I guess b/c she's a grandma to my 2 nieces she assumed that's why I bought it for her! lol)

Lol!!! We did all different things... On Christmas Day we gave my sister an "Aunt to Be" mug and everyone saw it (she and my parents) and got it RIGHT away - and cried :). For DH's family we had a separate Christmas (OOS) and we gave DH's niece a shirt that said I'm going to be a Big Cousin. Everyone was soooo EXCITED (And FIL cried)! Then for DH's grandparents we got them a really nice bottle of champagne and told them they couldn't open for another eight months. His grandma literally jumped up and down!!! And his grandpa cried. Such sweet memories...
