Spotting-red but not a lot

So I got pg with a paragard IUD in. At first I was extremely upset. Then I started to come to terms with it and get excited. Now I am spotting.

I had really good betas 99 and then 271 with a doubling time of 1.3 days. My progesterone was good. And now 4 days after having my IUD taken out I am spotting.

It's not a lot, but it is red. I would say a few drops when I pee, and then some red/pink when I wipe and maybe a few drops on a pad.

I am going for more bloodwork today and should know results tomorrow. Now I am nervous and wondering if I am miscarrying, this is from the IUD being removed, if it's from a hematoma and the lovenox.

I hate LIMBO!

I hate to even mention this but ectopic pregnancies are much more pregnant in women who have had IUDs (if you get pregnant, which in your case, you did). Have you had a sono? Hope all goes well for you.

Yes I know ectopic is more possible. My doctor has been monitoring me closely and I had a sono on Monday but I was only about 5 weeks so we didn't see anything yet. They had me repeat my bloods today to see if my levels are increasing as they should. My doctor also said with ectopic typically progesterone is very low and mine was not and also that the beta doesn't rise as it should and mine has. SO we are hoping that it is not ectopic. But only time will tell.

Re: Spotting-red but not a lot

I'm no doctor, but it's entirely possible that removing the IUD irritated the cervix and that's what is causing the bleeding.

I hope you get good news at the next sono Chat Icon

Spotting has stopped, but the beta yesterday went up but didn't double as it should. It is now 579 and was 271 four days before.

SO the dr said it could go either way. Sooo still in Limbo!

Re: Spotting-red but not a lot

Pretty sure I am definitely having a miscarriage. The bleeding has turned into more of a period. I am a little sad, but at the same time relieved. I didn't really want a third child but then started to get excited at the prospect. I am glad that I didn't have to make a decision and that I won't have any regrets with whatever choice I would have made.
