I remember when I was pregnant and went in for a filling, my dentist gave me something else - can't remember the name.
It didn't work as well as the novacaine - I have very sensistive teeth, so I felt EVERY LITTLE bit. She had to stop mid-way and I had to go back after I gave birth to DS.

My dentist wanted to do a procedure and said they would use Carbocaine instead of Novacaine but it still made me nervous. definitely ask your OB which ones are considered safe.
