can i buy a sharps container anywhere
does any place sell them?
the ones i get are so so small and between all the neeedles from PIO and lovenox and the ones from the gonal and ganerlix and lupron etc i have so many i started putting the in ziplock bags!
if i just had one big one it would be easier

where do you get your meds from? I know when I used to order from freedom pharmacy they would give me one for free (along with alcohol pads)

Lovenox needles also have a safety feature, the needle cover. After you inject, take out from skin and push plunger until it covers needle. One of the nurses told me about this and said I can dispose of them in the trash. I usually collect just the lovenox ones in a separate container because they take up too much room.

Hmm...why don't you just empty them? Take the filled box to your RE appt and they will dispose of them for you. Then you can take home your empty sharps container and start all over again.

thanks everyone!
i am going to use the detergent!
to answer some of the questions
i just assumed the had to be in the actual sharps container to be picked up
i def use the safety on the lovenox,i never knew bc of that u can use reg trash
and i did not know the re would let me dump them out there

Just an FYI....They sell sharps containers at Target, I just saw them at mine...didnt have a price sorry! They aren't that big either, seems like the same one that comes from Kaupner...GOOD LUCK ALL : )

my husband brought home an empty clear pretzel jug -- it's pretty funny seeing all the lovenox needles in this -- but it works!
