lovenox how long
Tonight I start lovenox...if you have been on this while pregnant for how long did they keep you on it? First few weeks...first trimester>

Youre supposed to be on it until 6 weeks after delivery.

Yup.
Some people are on it for less time though.. It depends on your issues.
Though, most are on it the entire time, and then some.

Yup.
Some people are on it for less time though.. It depends on your issues.

this is a new one for me....i asked my doc and he said lovenox needs to be stopped before delivery bc anasethsiologist cant give epis while on it and i have to switch to heparin....
why were you guys told to stay on it even after delivery?? me sooo confused!

i was on it the entire pregnancy until 6w post partum, except when i was in the hospital on bedrest they switched me to heparin until after i delivered. then when i went home i went back on lovenox.

I was on it until 36 wekks and then I was on Heparin for the last few weeks. Then back to Lovenox for 6 weeks post partum.

I was switched to Heparin at 36 weeks and the pit back on lovenox right after birth. The reason for the switch is that heparin has a shorter half life and they can give you something to counteract the heparin but they can't do it for the lovenox. I had to wait for a certain amount of time before I could get my epi because of when my last dose of heparin was

I only stayed on lovenox until 12 weeks. I wasn't on it for blood clotting issues but because there was resistance in my uterine artery blood flow. So the amount of time you're on it I think depends on why you are on it.

I was on Lovenox my whole pregnancy (well, I started when I was like 2 months preg), and then 6 weeks PP.
But my last two weeks of pregnancy, I was on Heparin. Then after having my DD, back on Lovenox.

Same I was only on it for the first trimester, not including the time I was on it during the cycle. It's a case by case basis
