lansdcaping project for under swingset
Can anyone recommend who they used or what they did for the ground underneath the swingset?

You can section off the swingset area with railroad ties and then use rubber mulch.

We priced out rubber mulch but it was expensive, about $2800 which is just about the cost of the actual swing set.
We just removed a rock garden we had and had the ground leveled bc this is where the swing set will be installed. There is no grass in this area now and so we will be having sod put in after installation.
ETA: I asked at every place we looked at swing sets what people have underneath the sets and was told 95% of people have grass.

We cleared out the grass, put landscape fabric down and put some wood chips. Tree removal companies usually deliver fresh cut wood chips for free. We felt it was better to have something down as grass does not cushion from falls. Something to think about for the safety of your LO's and the others who use the swingset.

We bought a house with a swingset and it has rocks under it, however we are taking it down and getting a new one but moving it to another side of the yard. We also asked around and most people have grass.
Our neighbor has mulch, but it makes such a mess (it gets stuck to their clothes and shoes.) As for wood chips, we are having trees taken down so I'll have access to plenty of wood chips but do they get moldy and attract bugs>

We have pea gravel rocks. It cost us about $250 for a truck load delivered.

Hmm, interesting. What do these look like? Do the kids get hurt if they fall down on these rocks?
