Would love your input - Insensitive childless comments from strangers
Has anyone been in a store or anywhere and had a stranger make some kind of insensitive comment referencing being childless? This unfortunately happened to me today.
I went to Target to try a couple of things on for my upcoming trip. I just recently had another miscarriage. I went in and out of dressing room a few times to get different sizes. The last time I went in dressing room, the big stall was open. I honestly never thought it was reserved for people with kids and didn't notice which stall I was going in. I just went in thinking it was any stall and quickly just tried on a shirt. There was nobody in the dressing room at this time. While I am undressed, I hear a girl go in a dressing room two stalls down with a child about 4 or five years old. I hear the child say something, but can't make it out and then I hear the mother say, "We can't have that stall because the person that took it, must not have a child and doesn't care and isn't nice." So the child tells the mother, "lets get her back." This is going on and I am enraged. I finally finished what I was doing, opened my stall door and go a stall away from her's and say, " your stall is free now. I didn't know you owned it. Next time paint your name on it." Nothing but silence. I was going to say, "yes, I don't have a child, as I just miscarried, but at that point there were people around. Is it me? I honestly just opened a stall door and went in. I have never had a stranger upset me more than this MORON!

what a @$$. I thought that stall was for handicap people??? I honestly never knew that. How did she know you didn't have a kid at home. Oh, its ok.I have a friend who thinks I have no responsibilities because I do not have a child. Ugh, sorry your condom broke and you got pregnant and have no idea what its like to have IF.

I really never thought when I went in it. The dressing room was completely empty too when I went in. She must have seen me go in before her alone. I just could not believe all I have been through that I have someone next to me saying this while I am trying to cheer myself up, shopping for my trip, trying to get my mind off all the heartache I have had with this. I am almost sorry I left without saying more.

I'm sorry to hear about your m/c. 
What is wrong with people? How rude. And she isn't such a great parent if her kid says let's get her back and she doesn't correct the kid.

You're right, it is for handicapped people but also for strollers as most won't fit in the regular rooms.
To the OP, I'm sorry that woman was an insensitive ass I wish you would have said more to make her feel like crap and to think twice before spouting off her mouth (to her child no less). Some people are just morons 
ETA, I'm sorry about your miscarriage I hope your trip can take your mind off of things a little bit.

I'm so sorry. That would have made me very emotional. Some people need a reality check. So sad but don't think about it any more. U did not deservevthat.
