opinions, please

As some of you know, my IVF cycle was cancelled this week. DH and I have an appt with my RE next week to discuss options (I only produced 2 mature size follicles). My RE did not have an optimistic tone when he called to cancel the cycle.

I wanted to make an appt at Cornell for a consult. They, however, would not give me an appt until I get all of my medical records from my RE sent to them. Part of my rush with making an appt @ Cornell is that the wait is over a month to get an appt right now. I guess I wanted to know I had the appt all set because I feel so pressured time-wise. My work schedule is easier to maneuver in the summer months, so traveling to Cornell would be easiest to do then.

Here's my issue: I'm concerned about the reaction at my RE's practice if I ask for my records right now. We haven't even met with my RE since the cycle was cancelled.

What would you do?

For me personally I would meet with my RE first and see what he has to say about your cancelled cycle and protocol for the next. If you don't agree then I would schedule a consult with Cornell.

I'm sure the office is used to people asking for their medical records. I don't think they can out right ask why but it's also not unheard of people looking for a second opinion.

Good luck!

I would meet with your RE first and see what they say. In the mean time, it can't hurt to ask your RE's office for the records. I am sure they are used to people asking for them, so it shouldn't be a big deal.
