does the baby sleep in your own room before you put them in their own crib/room?

Re: How long...

It's such a personal thing. DD slept in the rock n play in our room until 9.5 months! We wanted to wait until she was not waking to eat overnight since her bedroom is upstairs and ours is downstairs. We almost made it, but she was climbing out of the rock n play so we had no choice but to move her. I plan to have #2 in our room for much less time I think this time, but we'll see!

Re: How long...

Well I know that this is not average dd was in with us until 17 months Chat Icon I couldn't part with having her in with us. If I wasn't expecting dd2 she would be still sleeping in with us I'm sure. I was paranoid about SIDS, my dd had chronic ear infections and never slept through the night so it was easier on me to have her in with us. I have to say its been 2 months that she has been sleeping in her room and our life has changed drastically. We all finally sleep. I've learned my lesson and I am pretty sure dh is happy I've finally allowed her to sleep in her gorgeous nursrey lol. This time I swear dd2 is going into her room at 5-6 months. I'm much more relaxed this time around.

ETA: I never let dd sleep in my bed she was always in her crib. So when we moved her to her room at least we didn' thae to transition from the bed to the crib.
