Diet Soda
The only liquid I can hold down is Diet Pepsi.... the thought of drinking anything else makes me sick!! I keep craving it and feel like I have to have it all the time. I'm trying to limit myself to 1 or 2 cans - and only decaf - but it's so difficult.
How much diet soda is really ok?

Re: Diet Soda
I don't think any diet soda is good for you at all. Regular soda would actually be better since it has real sugar.
That said, if diet soda is the only thing you can keep down, then i would say that it's better than nothing.

Re: Diet Soda
I dont drink any because of the fake sugar. I would consult with your doctor and see what they think.

Re: Diet Soda
MY doc said its ok once in a while I cant drink regular soda...the sugar is too much for me.
I might have 1 or 2 a week. Then Ill got weeks or month without one. Im 7 months now and might have had 8 cans or so the whole pregnancy.

Re: Diet Soda
I was a diet soda drinker before I got pregnant, but switched to regular when I got pregnant and want a soda. Diet Coke has nutrasweet in it, which my doctor told me to avoid. Talk to your doctor.

Re: Diet Soda
I drank 1 or 2 cans of diet soda a day during each of my pregnancies. Sometimes it was caffeine free, sometimes it was not. I had 3 happy and healthy babies.
Obviously, while water is probably your best choice, everything else in moderation was my motto.

This was my experience except I drink either gingerale or seltzer. My Dr, and remember every Dr is different, told me to avoid aspartame at all costs. I plan, even after I am done w/the pregnancy never to go back to diet pepsi again.

Re: Diet Soda
My dr said ok to diet soda in moderation. No drinking a 2 liter bottle a day but 2-3 glasses a day mixed in with my 8-10 glasses of water is fine.
