Stroller Question

Is there a reason to need more than one? How many should we register for? I was thinking of going with a traditional stroller that lets you strap in the car seat as an infant stroller and then when they get older than can use it without the car seat. I am so confused. What did you do?

We're borrowing my SIL's snap n go.

So we registered for a regular stroller plus an umbrella stroller.

Sounds like you're fine with just the one.

I registered for and received 2 at my shower...

1. Chicco Keyfit Caddy (its like a snap and go for my chicco infant car seat)

2. City Mini (for when she outgrows the infant car seat)

I could have just went for the city mini but i heard the adaptor is terrible on it for the chicco car seats... like it doesnt click in the way it should and is not stable

A snap n go is GREAT for the beginning. It will also help you gauge when you use the stroller and what you find important in a stroller -- whether you want a parent console, a large basket, to face your baby, etc, etc.

It's also a great item to get used if you're considering that, since they're usually only used for a few months.

Travel systems are usually not what parents end up wishing they'd gotten. It's nice to get everything at once, but I've heard so many stories of parents who wish they'd known more of what they wanted in a stroller before committing to one.

A lightweight stroller is definitely important! I highly recommend the Peg Perego Pliko Mini, but it's $250. A much less expensive option is the Kolkraft Litesport. It's like $50 and has an AMAZING basket. It also folds very easily, just like the snap n go AND it has a tray for the baby, which for me is a MUST. (the mini does not) I got my kolkraft litesport at a consignment sale for $15 but it's an older version that doesn't recline. I've had DD in it since around 9 months with no problems.

My daughter will not and does not sleep in a stroller. So that has never been a concern for us.

Since #2 is on the way and DD will only be 21 months when she/he is born, I now need a stroller that will accommodate 2 -- and ideally one I can snap an infant car seat into but later use with two seats. I've looked into the Britax B Ready and the Uppababy Vista -- they both are very similar but I like the B Ready's option to put the infant seat on the bottom or the "rumble" seat down there. I also LOVE that you can have the baby face you (I miss that!). It's a fabulous stroller, although not light at all.

If you go to youtube and type in strollers you're interested in, a website called babygizmo does FABULOUS video reviews of pretty much every single stroller. I found that extremely valuable in deciding what stroller to get. It's a great place to get info and feel very informed before you choose.

With my son, my mom got me the Bugaboo Frog and I registered for the Maclaren.

I am using the Bug for my LO#2 and I won't be registering/buying a new Maclaren until later on.

For DS 1, I opted for a snap and go and a Maclaren. I loved them both but wish I got a City Mini instead of the Maclaren since it as a full recline and a huge sun shade.

I decided against a travel system because most people I know opted to get an additional lightweight stroller once they stopped using the infant seat with it.

We got a snap n go for her infant carseat to fit into and then got a city mini for when she is older. I opted for the city mini since she will fit in it longer than a normal stroller and also seems like it would be easier/lighter than some other strollers. I think you will be fine with whatever you decide, everyone has a different preference.

I didn't like the travel system strollers. They seemed heavy. The snap 'n go was great at the beginning. Then, I used a lightweight stroller after DS outgrew the infant car seat. I also ended up getting a jogging stroller, which I loved. It really depends on what your needs and preferences are.

I used 2 with ds. As pp's have said, the Snap & Go frame is great in the beginning! It's lightweight and super easy to use. We've only used 1 other stroller since then. We have a Maclaren Techno XT that I love since it's super light.

With DS I got a City Mini and a snap n go.

When he was 6 months old, I bought the city mini carseat adaptor and I realized I TOTALLY didn't need the snap n go from the beginning!!!

So for me, a City Mini with a carseat adaptor would be the perfect go-to stroller. It's the only stroller we used for 2 years with DS!

I JUST got the Maclaren Volo (very simple umbrella stroller) for him. It's great now that I just walk to the playground or run to the store for a quick something. He doesn't need it to recline etc. so at this age it's great, but deffff wouldn't have needed it before age 2.

I have the city mini with the adapter. I felt no need to have soemthing extra that I would only use for a few months. I love the city mini and have had no issues usign it with the adapter and we have been takignit everywhere lately since its nice out.

It is very lightweight and easy to use.

I think I have way too many.....
I registered for and received a Snap n Go, a Peg Perego Switch Four, AND a Maclaren umbrella. In hindsight, i should have just went with a Snap and Go and Maclaren....I am rationalizing it by saying if I don't get a lot of use out of them with my first LO, my second LO will be all set!
