I gave blood today for the Materni T 21 test
Two weeks before we get the results. Im told its 99% accurate.
Please  for good results for our peanut

What test is that?
It eliminates the need to have a CVS or amnio done since there are risks involved with those tests. They check for Downs and 2 other genetic disorders. Where the CVS and amnio are 99.9% accurate, this test is 99% accurate and there are no risks involved since its just a bloodtest.
The test has been around for years but the cost was btwn $10K and $15K to have done and the insurance co were not paying for it. Now, they have reduced the costs to make it more affordable since the risks are eliminated. The test is like $2K now but I only had to pay $235 OOP.

Is this like the nt scan/bloodwork they do around 12wks or something different?

Something different. More info:
The MaterniT21 PLUS test analyzes circulating cell-free DNA extracted from a maternal blood sample. The test detects an increased amount of chromosomal 21, 18, and 13.

I never heard of this. How far along do u do this test? Does it eliminate the nt scan/blood or you do both?
