When is downs syndrome diagnosed?
I thought it was prenatally or shortly after birth (like right away), but I was watching a talk show where the lady said her DD wasn't diagnosed by her pediatricians until she was 6 months, and she had regular pre and post natal follow ups. Can it go undiagnosed for so long?

Nuchal Translucency sonogram, doesnt that "test" for Downs syndrome? and thats done at 12 weeks?

That is really just a risk assessment - it is not a 100% diagnosis. I think maybe an amnio or CVS can conclusively determine if the baby has down syndrome...but I could be wrong about that.

NT is just ratios and what your chances are, does not test to say 100% yes or no...
Yes CVS and Amnio will tell you 100% because those are chromosone tests.

There are a few different kinds of Down Syndrome - one of them is Mosaic Down Syndrome and the child doesn't always exhibit the outward physical signs of DS

As others mentioned, the NT scan is a risk assessment. Only an amnio or CVS can diagnose, and not everyone chooses to have those tests done.
ETA: I have a friend whose son was diagnosed with Downs at 9.5 months old.
