Does your husband feel left out?
My DH is super excited about our pregnancy and he is super supportive and treats me like a queen. I recently found out that DH feels a little left out from this pregnancy because I'm carrying the baby and we're connected and hes an outsider. He said he felt that way when he first heard the heartbeat.
My DH is planning on coming to every doctors visit and anything that has to do with baby.
I told him to speak to baby and he said its hard because he knows baby cannot hear him and I said I'm sure baby can feel him and his love. Is there any thing I can do to help DH feel connected to his pregnancy. I remind him that it was him that made it all happen with his little swimmers and I tell him that baby is his baby because I'm hot all the time (I'm always a cold).
Any other hubbys feel this way?

Re: Does your husband feel left out?
I think that's normal. DH keeps saying that I'm lucky bc he'll never get to know what it feels like.
However whenever he comes home he kisses my belly and says "Hi Baby" and always touches my belly (even though there's not much there yet). It's super cute.
Maybe as you get further along and you show more and he can feel it he will be able to feel more connected when it can kick his hand, etc.

my favorite part of the day is when he leaves for work, gives me a kiss and kisses my belly.

ITA with this. My DH has never expressed to me that he is sad or feels disconnected but everytime he comes home he rubs and kisses my belly and says hi to him. I do think as you get further along things will change...I think it really all changed for my DH when he finally felt the baby kick his hand...dont worry, he'll come around

Re: Does your husband feel left out?
Aww...I think that's common. To get more involved, DH would lay in bed with me at night and read books, rubs my belly (day and night), came to register (and helped research) and, like yours, committed and has also come to every single appointment - even just to hear the heartbeat and me to give urine!
I think a lot of people forget about the man in things and it can be frustrating. Many relatives ask how I am feeling, whats new with me, etc. and never consider him.
I just keep checking in with him. I always ask him how hes feeling! We also focused figuring out the nursery since that is his big task and he wants it to be perfect for her. It put some of the responsibility on him and he loved it. If there is anything you can do to make him feel special "(fav. dinner, event, etc.) maybe that would help a little. It might also be hard that the attention is off of him.
Good luck!!

Re: Does your husband feel left out?
dh was very involved on the first baby, came to all the appts.......
I think it would definately help for him to talk to it(dh did that). and if you feel the thumping get his hand on your belly... I remember one night I drank Iced Decaf coffee and the sugar got baby thumping
