I think the more common spelling is with 2 "n"s. If you spell with one, she will probably have other people misspelling her name her whole life.

Thanks guys! I prefer Gianna, but DH, my mom, my sis & her fiance like Giana...But, I'm the mom and I get final say- so Gianna it is!!

Just gave birth on 2/5 we named our little girl Giana with the one N because DH and I wanted to be different. The Italian way is with one N and that was a plus for us also
