OPK pros please come on in *update*

So I am doing an umedicated IUI this cycle and if it's a no go we are moving on to IVF next cycle. Last cycle I had a with FMU and O'd 2 days later. I do not seem to get unless I use FMU. My RE has continued to monitor me this cycle and as of yesterday I had a 17.5mm follie on the right but my estrogen levels were still considered low. They didn't want me back in the office until Saturday. I continued to test at home and this morning got my . I called the office this morning and they seem very skeptical based on my blood results from Wednesday but agreed to see me tomorrow at the crack of dawn. They didn't seem to take a lot of faith in the OPK but how would I get a false if I am not medicated. Any ideas?

Definitely go in and have some more bloodwork before you have your iui. I had a false positive smiley this month and two months ago. This month it was with first morning urine. I was skeptical because of what happened two months ago and went in for bloodwork to confirm the lH surge that same day. Well, the bloodwork confirmed I was NOT surging and the was definitely false. I will NEVER trust opks again! The doctor said it could be some chemical in my FMU that is reacting and making the test turn positive. They have worked for me in the past but I'm just too nervous to trust them anymore.

you would get a false if you have PCOS or other issues that would cause LH to be artificially high.

out of curiosity, why would you jump from unmedicated IUI to IVF?? there are sooo soooo many different things you can do in between. that just seems sort of like going from dipping your toe in the shallow end of the pool to going cliff diving in one quick motion.

i remember from other posts that you've done some clomid cycles before and i also remember your RE being a little strange as far as what she told you in regards to your hormone levesl/thinking you wouldn't O/you surging anyway...that kind of stuff..

honestly if i were you before you go to IVF with this doctor get a second opinion and see whats out there. JMHO but it just seems like you can prob get pregnant without IVF if you had the right protocol. either way, good luck!!!

i would go and have them do blood to confirm u r about to surge

I have gotten them and what I usually do is take one in the morning with FMU and if you think it might be false you can hold in your urine and test again later on at night. Usually if it was false you wont get a :) again. You can always go to your dr and they can tell by your progestrone levels.

So I went in Friday and the follie measured 19mm and RE thought it best to go in for an IUI just in case even though they didn't have my blood results. DH and I went in for IUI and the nurse called later and said it was a false because my blood showed I was close but not ready to surge yet. Went in yesterday, my birthday, and follie was at 20mm. They told me to trigger last night and go in tomorrow for another IUI. I am hoping this is my birthday wish come true . According to LI IVF my eggs are officially "old" as of yesterday.
