Such a weepy day for me... (Semi-pregnancy related)
First I get to work and I get a letter in my mailbox from a student that says:
I was so touched by his words (especially the "half-@ssed" LOL LOL), not only by the last line, but also the fact that he actually took the time to write this without parent coercion... just a heart to heart convo with the class about character (apparently there were a few who were talking sh!t about me to another teacher - and that person felt it necessary to tell me what they said... sometimes ppl should just keep their mouths shut), honesty and trust... (which led to some watery eyes on my part bc of a students dishonest behavior - friggin' hormoneys)
Then, at 6:45AM a student of mine comes in my room (school doesn't start until 7:30 so why she's in school is beyond me  ) and gives me a diaper bag full of baby goodies: matching teddy bears, hand knit jackets and hats, and receiving blankets for the twins... and she proceeds to tell me: "I just want to let you know that I think you're an amazing teacher and you shouldn't let the children you teach reduce you to tears and make you feel bad because they're immature. The majority of us think you're a great teacher and will really miss you when you leave to have your babies..."
I, of course, proceed to cry... tears of happiness.
I have had such a hard time lately at work justifying my job and questioning whether I should ask to transfer to the MS to leave the HS bs for awhile... But I guess the gods were listening and sent these two messengers to remind me why I do what I do...

That is the sweetest thing I have ever read. I would've broke down into tears too. At least you know that there are those students who do appreciate you and whose lives your have obviously touched

That's so sweet! Im sure many more than those two students will miss you. The rest are just too shy or afraid to seem uncool to say it
