Any recommendations? DH and i are going away for only 3 nights/4 days without our kids. we need some place warm, sunny and short flight so we arent waisting travel time. i figured all inclusive is the way to go since its so short. Any recommendations? we are going in May. TIA

Re: All inclusive- short flight?
The shortest flight with AI resorts is probably Bahamas, but I honestly don't love the Bahamas. DR , Jamaica and Mexico will be more like 3.5-4 hours. We just went to Barbados for the same amount of time you're going and we loved it! The flight was a little longer, but we had great flight times and were able to get beach time on the day we got there and the day we left. So in addition to thinkIng about how long the flight is, you should also consider the flight times and also how long it takes to get from the airport to your resort.

Re: All inclusive- short flight?
we're going to Jamaica for 4 nights, 3 1/2 days in February. i feel like its a little crazy, but we need to get away!! LOL we're staying at The Jewel Dunn's River Falls. gets good reviews on trip advisor and other sites the flight is gonna be like 4 hours from Newark, so not too bad...
not sure if you're into cruises, but my friend just went on a carnival cruise for like 3 nights. it was on the carnival sensation- it leaves from florida, and goes to the bahamas for 2 days, and then home. that would be an easy few days away... not totally all inclusive, but at least the food would be covered!

Re: All inclusive- short flight?
Bahamas would be the shortest flight.
I really liked Aruba. It isn't the fastest flight but it wasn't very long, like 4 hours.
Turks and Caicos, Jamica, Puerto Rica and Dominical Republic are also relatively close options.
I've never been to Turks and Caicos or Jamaica so that is where I want to go next.

Re: All inclusive- short flight?
I would think about where you really want to go and not worry so much about the flight, An hour or two isn't going to make much difference.
I would look at the dates you want and compare flights.
For example, a 6am flight that gets you to St. Lucia by 10:30am is going to give you more vacation time than a 2.5 hour flight to the bahamas leaving at 3pm.
This is a big factor for us with vacations. We fly to orlando a lot, and there are tons of flights, but we will change dates, or fly into or out of laguardia (ew) when he live LITERALLY 5 min from JFK, if it means we get to Disney world a few hours earlier or get to leave a few hours later.
That was a long way of saying the length of the flight can be evened out by the timing of the flight.
Some things are annoying and unavoidable though. I go to Denver to visit family and I know I'm always going to be taking a 7:30 flight that gets in at like 11:30 their time, and I'm taking the red eye home. Really annoying for my family to have to pick me up and drop me off at crazy hours, but it's ok
