A little in denial about baby's sex

So we found out for Christmas that baby is a girl. It was a really amazing moment, very exciting. We have a 22 month old DS already.

But I've been a little in denial about it being a girl. I mean, we're planning for a girl, etc., but I wanted confirmation.

I had a followup sono to check my placenta today and baby still looks like a girl. The tech seemed confident and showed us - no penis or testicles in sight.

But I somehow still don't TRULY believe it Chat Icon 19 years ago my younger brother was slated to be a girl until he was born! lol. Imagine everyone's surprise. So maybe that has something to do with it? I know the technology has improved vastly in the last 20 years, but I've heard of other people recently being told the wrong gender.

Is it normal to be a little incredulous? Like I said, we're planning on it being a girl, buying girl things etc., but I can't help but think, well what if the goods are hiding and it's really a boy??? lol

Or am I just nuts?

Re: A little in denial about baby's sex

I completely understand because this happened to a friend's sil just recently. She was told girl and they prepared for a girl. had a gender reveal etc and later on in the pregnancy (thank goodness not at birth) they were told it's actualy a boy!

Left me paranoid to say the least and even though we were told girl with confidence at 21 weeks, we decided to wait until 28 weeks (elective 3d ultrasound) to order the baby furniture.

She is still a girl so far at 29 weeks soooo, I am almost 100% confident now Chat Icon

Oh my lord, see this is what I'm afraid of! We were team green with DS so I never experienced this before.

At my 20 week and 25 week sonos they said girl. I might be having another sono in 4-6 weeks so of course I will ask if they can double check again.

This is actually a fear of mine. I found out at 16 weeks that we're having a girl and I'm so excited. Tech was "high 90% sure" it is a girl. But I am still really afraid that we are going to go back in a few weeks and find out she grew a penis!
