Need ideas

My classroom is new (added wing 2 yrs ago) but as typical NYC they do not think nor consult people who would be using these things and were only provided with closets that have maybe 20ish hooks for class size maxed at 32. These kids winter jackets are humongous and there is no room with backpacks too.

I need a suggestion as to adding hooks or something that would work and not $$$$$$. The doors to the closet are metal so I could somehow attach hooks to it.

I already have bins on the floor for backpacks, it is really the jacket situation.

I can take a picture tomorrow if that helps.

would this work or are the hooks on the side not long enough?
ikea rack with hooks for jackets, hats, etc

oh just realized though plus they show in the second pic, you can also hang stuff obviously on the pole.

also, is there any place in the room or maybe just in the closets that you can hang a pole to just just use hangers for the coats

and besides this, there are a lot more on there that are not expensive, even if you have to buy 2....i just typed in the word coat or coat rack into ikeas search and a bunch of stuff came up. good luck!
