I would have your DH confront him or speak to the owner of the apartment complex. Not sure if I wouldn't rent the place because of that...

That would totally freak me out. Has a police report ever made on this man? If not I would do that. I don't know if I would stay around there. Since you were thinking of moving I think I would move away. JMO

Holy Crap I would go crazyyyy! if my lease is up then I would find another place to move. I won't feel comfortable at all even if It was 3 doors down.

Re: would you rent this place? sort of long

I live in an apt complex. Recently the 2br in our group of 4 apts became vacant. We needed to move because we had a baby. And we contemplated taking the available 2 br.
The guy that lives below us is weird. I call him "Crazy Bob". He is harmless, but he talks to everyone and knows everything that is going on. He is always trying to "help" someone. He is the type that collects bottles.
When we were deciding to stay in this area or go find something new, we took the neighbors into consideration. We know what we have here. You do not know what neighbors are going to be like in a new place. We decided to stay here and take the 2BR next door mostly because we did not want to deal with the variable of what will the new neighbors be like.

On a side note, we thought the move would be easy because we were literally moving next door. It took us 3 days and was one of the hardest moves we have ever done. We were exhausted. Don't believe that because you may move close by that the move will be easy. 3 weeks later, my apartment is still not put back together and organized.

That is creepy! Was he on your property? If so, I would call the cops. I would move to the other house and not let this creep keep you from leading the life you want to lead. I would DO something to teach this creep a lesson.

Are you in MV?

This exactly. I'd also make sure to be hyper aware of my surroundings and carry pepper spray. The legit stuff is illegal in NY state, but you can get stuff that can be used if you are attacked by an animal. I would not hesitate to spray him in the face.

IDK... If all you have heard is a rumor and all he did was look at you on his property, Im not sure it would be a big deal. However, if your gut is telling you your not comfortable I dont think that will ever change. You will move a couple doors down and still not feel comfortable. So if its that big of a deal I wouldnt continue renting there. Im just wondering if hes just a harmless guy with a bad rap for nothing?

We had a strange guy named Brian who used to walk through our neighborhood, talk to himself and rummage through your garbage for bottles. He seemed creepy, all the kids in the neighborhood teased him etc, but my mom told me to give him a chance. I did and he was harmless.

I don't know what I would do. If I was that uncomfortable and had a bad feeling I would probably find a new place.
