Elf on the Shelf
If your kids are older and you have this - do they go to school and talk about it at all? This is new to us and I have a feeling DS (6) may go to school and tell his friends and they will think he's crazy .

We don't have one because my 6 year old is freaked out by it but he comes home from school telling me about his friends' elves, so it must be normal!!

In my PK class last year a number of the students had them & one little girl brought the book in for show & tell & we read it. We ended up getting one for the class.
A lot of the children would come in & say, guess where my elf was today.

My DD is in 1st grade and she comes home and tells me where all her friends elves hid that morning so I guess a lot of kids have one.

Well, my 6 yr old comes home andtells me all about the elf on the shelf and he wants one too.. Problem is that we are Jewish!!!
He says they all talk about it at school and he feels left out....

My son's Kindergarten class had read it the same day the author was signing books at Book Revue so we got ours then and he was so excited to go back in to school and share with everyone that he had one at home.

I teach 2nd grade and several kids have elves...no one has ever said anything,,,If anything, I think they're prob envious of the kids who have them.
