Has anyone changed OB/GYN in the middle of your pregnancy

I am having some issues with my Dr that I am just not able to ignore anymore....I would love to change my Dr but at this point to start over again with a new dr might just be to much. Im 24 weeks already.

Has anyone every done this and if so how did it work out?

I didnt, BUT SHOULD HAVE. Just do it. I totally regret not switching while i was pregnant and up until i delievered and after i was displeased with my office. Im now 20 weeks pregnant with baby #2 and started with a new dr who i LOVE. Its not to late, its never to late to switch if you not happy just do it .

I just did it at 28 weeks. I am still waiting to hear from the office I REALLY want (they don't take past 20 wks but are revieweing my records)but was accepted into another office closer to my new home with no problem.

In my case it was primarily location driven but overall I would recommend switching if you are unhappy. In the end, this is a very important experience that can well shape the way you view any future births. You owe to yourself to trust your instincts.

I did it around 29/30 weeks. BEST decision I've ever made! Good Luck!

I did at 16 weeks when I was pg with dd. At first I started looking due to insurance issues but than other things at the practice annoyed me like, seeing 10 different drs, horrible sono equipment, having to always make appointments at the office that was furthest from my house.

It was the best decision I ever made to switch to the new practice. I got to know the only 2 drs in the practice, they knew by name, much cleaner up to date office and most of all I loved my drs and midwife. Zero regrets!

I did at 19 weeks. I was fed up with the 2 hour + wait times at my Drs office and then felt rushed when he finally did see me.

I am so happy I did switch. My new Dr has been great. And I love that when I failed my 1 hour he personally called me right away. No having a nurse call or havign to hunthem down for results.

Yes, I changed around 12 weeks. It was the best thing I did, because I am so much more comfy now. The only issue I had was having to pay an extra co-pay to the old doc because I didn't finish my pregnancy with them.

My regular OB went on maternity leave the month before I got my BFP!! So, I'm seeing a collegue of hers and I'm not 100% happy with him. Honestly I think I need to give it more time since I have such a comfortable relationship with my OB BUT, I'm still going back to her when she returns in Dec.

If you are not happy and/or comfortable by any means, don't hesitate...change.

I changed around week 24 and never regretted it, but I went from an OB to the SB midwives.

At the OB practice I was at, I felt like just a number but even at my first midwife appointment, I felt like they treated me like family -- took lots of time with all my questions and concerns, actually asked how I was and listened to the answer. I can honestly say I've run into my midwives at Target, the grocery store, etc., and we greet each other with hugs.

My OB wouldn't even know my name even when it was written on the chart.

I did at 19 weeks with #1. I was disgusted with my former OB and found a new OB thru a friend who was pregnant at the same time. I was so glad I did. I would do it. You don't want to have to deal with the issues you have while you are at your wits end (aka the last 2-3 wks).

yes i switched around 16 weeks- i wanted an md that only delivered at stony brook and i hated the sono tech at my old practice- very happy we switched!!
