Pregnancy and physical appearance...

I want to preface this with this is not a complaint- because I am so blessed and grateful to be pregnant-

However, I have heard my entire life about pregnant women "glowing"? etc...but-I look the WORST I have looked in my entire life except for maybe the awkward stage I went through in puberty/early adolescence.

My skin is blotchy, pale and bumpy. My hair is dull and lifeless. My thighs magically have sprouted cellulite and there is something off about my face that I cannot quite put my finger on- but I don't look like myself. I feel very very unattractive.

Does anyone else feel like this?????

yups!!! and i am okay about it bc this pg is from if treatments.

that said...there is nada CUTE kwim about me...i probably will only mind when people start taking pics of me like at a baby shower or such ...but for the most part i am fine with being a beast lol

YES!! I feel the same way. I just look 'off'. Oh, and when I came out to my family, my aunt said "I thought you looked ashen". ASHEN?? Aren't I supposed to be glowing?

I think the "glowing" part doesn't come until later, if it happens.

I looked better at the end of my pregnancies with DD and DS.

In the beginning you are tired, have MS (if you have it), and your body is working super hard. Things start to even out during the 2nd tri. Hair and nails get thicker and nicer. Skin clears up.

But you'll notice you look different in pictures. Your whole body changes. It's crazy!

I am still waiting for that glow
My skin is so bad too and I can't use any of my prescribed skin ointments. I gained so much weight and I just feel so uncomfortable in my skin.

It makes it worse that pre pregnancy people would always tell me I'd be one of those skinny women with a big bump I guess I assumed they would be right

But you know what? I just had my 12 week ultrascreen on friday and I can't tell you how amazing it was and how I TOTALLY feel like this "uncomfortable phase" is worth it. I saw that baby dancing around and I didn't care that my clothes don't fit me right at the moment or I don't feel very pretty. I was on cloud nine

I didn't glow with either of my pregnancies.....

I will say that I looked better with Jack than with Ava. Ava sucked the life out of me BUT my hair and skin were amazing. I just blew up and felt miserable.

With Jack I looked better but my skin and hair were a hot mess.

I'm still waiting for the pre-kids woman to appear....

this is me exactly!!!!!

& how about this- I'm not "out" to my students yet (I'm almost 11 weeks) & 3 of the boys asked another teacher last week, "Is Mrs. ____ pregnant? She got really fat!!!!"

I'm not complaining bc I will take it all in order to have a healthy baby... it's just hard to go from "skinny" & "pretty" to chubby & ewwie! it's a big adjustment & not an easy one at that!

I'm waiting for the glow! Right now I just have the breakouts and DH keeps telling me how pale I look

I can deal with the hair and the paleness because blush goes a long way and I can always curl the heck out of my hair- its the breakouts on my cheeks, neck, chest and back that have me reeling!

However, I have my ultrascreen next Thurs and I know that once I see the peanut that I will care less about all the aesthetic noneense..

"My thighs magically have sprouted cellulite". I was just thinking the same this weekend. Where did all this cottage cheese come from?? My face is all broken out, my gums are inflamed, huge, and randomly bleed. My breasts have their own zip code.. EACH!

But actually, I DO feel like I'm glowing! Despite all the ugliness, I have a great glow!

In the beginning I felt the same way, then as the weeks progressed (and I entered the second trimester) I started to get the "you're glowing" comments. First trimester- I had circle under my eyes, blotchy skin and a crap load of pimples.

I never "glowed" with DS and I'm sure as h e l l not glowing now There is def something "off" about my face when I am preggo.

completely in the same boat.... the worst for me is the acne on chin, neck and chest. i've never had it so bad even as a teen and an adult with hormonal acne! then yes there's the magic cellulite.... no likey at all!!

I am 6 months now and looked different before I even knew I was pregnant and its just gotten worse. My nose is bigger. My feet and hands are bigger. My skin is blah. My eyes are tired. and I am too tired to do hair and makeup like I used to - if I do its decent but its rare I have the energy so its making it worse. I have my shower in Dec and a fancy work function in Nov I am thinking of getting my hair done for both - I just don't have the energy to straighten or style... its been pony tails of fuzz. My eyebrows need help too but it seems to hurt more than normal. strangely I 've managed to keep up with shaving in general. Oh I have discoloration in places I don't want it. and my boobs are ugly now. my nails are growing so fast i can't keep up.

but i never been more happy and more blessed.

2 nights ago I looked in the mirror and said to my DH wow this must be what people refer to as glowing skin, my skin looks perfect today and it's glowing.... next morning I woke up with 2 huge zits on my face, one on my face and one on my forehead, yeah
With my DD I was a mess, my skin looked terrible, got bad acne around 9 weeks and couldn't get rid of it for the longest time. I didn't gain much , but I just looked overall , my face changed so much and not in a good way.
With this one so far so good other than these 2 pimples on my face -one looks like I have a horn growing on my forehead - but we'll see.

I feel weird and gross too. I had surgery shortly before getting pregnant, so I started out squishy and now I feel even more lumpy. I have also already gone up a cup size, so I sort of feel like I'm not in control of my own body...and it's weird!

I understand what you mean. I have the worst acne on my chest it grosses me out. My face is off which as I am writing feels like an opening of a joke.
