BTDT - contractions at 20 weeks? UPDATED

Could it be BH contractions already?

They aren't painful, but my belly isn't getting hard like they do with BH. I would describe them as only slightly uncomfortable and... all too familiar!

This is my 3rd time around and I'm not the type to freak out over every little thing but I'm wondering if I should be concerned?

Now, don't yell at me but...they started yesterday WHILE I was sitting in the dr's office waiting for my regular appt. I decided not to mention it to the dr because A - I had been waiting forever and a day and just wanted out of there and B - they went away and I thought that maybe I was crazy and imagining things... phantom contractions, if you willl.

But today they came back...

I have another appt tomorrow for a sono so I guess I'll mention it then... but, my fear is that they'll send me to L&D and make a big fuss when it's probably nothing... I know, I know better safe than sorry but I would feel so dumb being that this is my 3rd time and I should know better...

They say BH go away with water right? Water isn't making these go away though, I've been chugging all day... do BH also go away with activity? Maybe I'll try that...

Anyone have a similar experience around 20 weeks?

Last night they persisted and even started to get a little more painful, like period cramps. I knew that wasn't good so I laid on my left side and drank water and waited and eventually they went away.

So I saw the doctor today and you ladies were right, this is not normal. I have to take it easy... been doing a bit too much at the gym and probably a bit too much in general.

I knew my body would tell me when I was doing too much but I didn't think it would be with contractions. Scared me enough to chill out a bit for sure.

If anyone out there experiences anything similar - not ok - call your doctor. I definitely had more than 4 in an hour and they said that is the sign to call your doctor.

Def. call the doc asap. S/he will prob. send you to l&d. This happened to me. It was my ligaments stretching once and the second time I was really having contractions....from dehydration. Def. look into it....Good luck!

20 weeks is a lil early, id call the doctor.

What did they feel like?

I've had braxton hicks starting around 15 weeks probably due to a UTI. I still get them sometimes at 19 weeks but not nearly as often. I have to drink at least a gallon of water a day because of it.

My belly would feel uncomfortable and get hard, like I could feel a lump. Now sometimes it feels uncomfortable with a little tightness but no lump or hardness to the touch. Other times I get crampy for a little bit and it goes away.

I don't do anything but relax really. They told me to take it easy. I thought BH was only when you could feel the hardness? To be honest my belly is uncomfy almost all of the time

I'm asking what the other type of contractions you had felt like? Was it painful for a minute then go away? Then painful for a minute again? Like off and on? Or constant cramps?
