opera-during day what to wear?
I have opera tickets for a day performance. What do I wear? Is a shirtdress ok? I figured I will walk around the city in flats and change to heels before I go in?
Anyone ever go? What do people wear?
I am taking the train in so I want to be comfy enough to shop after and walk around the city.

a shirtdress is fine & so are flats. you'll see that most people are in business casual attire even at evening performances.
gowns and tuxes are only worn for galas.

Every time we go, we see a huge range, everything from jeans to very elegant wear (never tuxes).
I usually stick with a simple black dress, and DH wears a button down shirt with slacks.
