Hi Ladies, I have a question about being a public school teacher and going on maternity leave. If you have the sick time, how long will they pay you?

recovery time?
FMLA time?

NYC DOE you will get paid for up to 6 weeks or 8 weeks (if you have a c section). You must use your own sick days, you can borrow up to 20 if you do not have enough. Once you either hit the 6/8 week mark OR run out of days you stop getting paid. There is something called a "grace period" where you get paid for weekend and holidays (not sure about specifics as it does not apply to me so I did not look into it but you might want to).

FMLA provides 12 weeks of health insurance coverage.
