CL Fans
I recently bought a new pair of CL pumps... In the past with my CL shoes I have worn them (and abused them, sadly) and only gotten them repaired/resoled after they got some pretty heavy use. I am wondering if it's worthwhile to get the bottoms protected on these before I really beat them up. What do you all do? Does it really after one way or the other? Of course I just want to get the most use out of them I can... Thanks!

Re: CL Fans
I just recently got my first pair, and i haven't worn them out of the house yet but plan to wear them to a wedding this weekend. i'm no help, sorry, but i'd like to hear insight on this too. Lawyerwife, how many wears do you usually get out of a pair before having to resole them?

I definitely get a good number of uses out of them... The red gets scraped off pretty much right away, esp if you're on sidewalks in NYC, etc. I resole once they are reslly worn down and I'm worried they're going to get slippery. I'm bringing in a pair today that I've worn for a little bit over a year (but they're a dressy pair for weddings, etc). I was trying to think if there's any advantage to doing it before you wear them, you keep the bottoms intact, but I guess it doesn't really matter.

I re-sole before I wear them, but I have worn once or twice (bc of excitement) before I dropped them off.
Definitely go to the Post Road Bootery, CL's are his speciality! $33 for the red soles (but same price if you're getting any other shoes done there too). He can also fix the heels or any scrapes.
He is magical!
