Someone please tell me when does the dr
Tell you how many weeks you are? I asked the nurse if they can tell me how many weeks I am and she said "we can't say yet, you have to come in on Fri for the first pregnancy appt and we can tell you more "
I'm looking for a new dr , but I'll be going there on Fri.

No one can tell you how pregnant you are by a blood test. You have to go in for a sono which most doctors don't do until you are about 8 weeks (they go by your LMP). Some doctors will do a sono at 6 weeks. If they are doing blood tests, they are most likely looking to see that your numbers double every 48 hours.

I never had betas done. My first appt was when I was 8 weeks along. I had a sono and they asked me when my lmp was. According to that info and the sono measurements is when they told me how many weeks the baby was measuring.

I think most doctors will estimate the number of weeks based on you LMP. Then once they do the first sono (around what they think is 8 weeks) they'll adjust it if necessary.

this is what i was going to say.
though i do want to add... don't get too hung up on the LMP date... for someone who ovulated early or late... that LMP date isn't a tell tale sign of how far along you are. I O late so if I went by LMP (like dr's like to go by) I would have been measuring 2+ weeks behind.
If you know your O date that's a better date to go by. You just count the weeks from O and then add on 2 weeks to that number to find out how far along the baby should be measuring.

ETA: As a total and complete GUESS... I'd say you are somewhere in the 5 week mark. But I could be totally off. I just was beta 62 for my first test, then it was like 182 and then it went up over 700... and that was around the end of the 5 week mark for me. So if that helps for comparison. Though take it with a grain of salt because it can be totally different for everyone (and each pregnancy)... and the beta range is drastic.

Ive been for two sonos already and the doc could only tell me I'm "about" 6 weeks, even though I did an IUI so we know exact dates. He said he could give me a better estimate around the 7-8 week mark when he measures the baby.

this!
Mine was adjusted almost THREE weeks after we realized I must have ovulated REALLY late...so nothing is accurate until you are at LEAST 6-8 weeks along and they can measure the size of the fetus! Based on my LMP I was given 12/14 and then at 8 weeks he adjusted it to 12/31!!
