Is this too cutesy? ETA - wanna help find me a dress?

I have two weddings coming up.

One in Bufflao on 9-10-11 and one in Philly on 11-11-11 (I know, my friends are witty).

I'm going single to both of them, no kids. Buffalo is friends and Philly is family.

I bought this and it fits great. But now I'm wondering if it's too cutesy-bootsy to wear to a wedding as a 36 year old woman.

I was going to pair them with a pair of 4 inch black peep toes.

Honest opinions are welcomed.

Re: Is this too cutesy?

IMO, yes. It's a very cute dress. More appropriate for the bridal shower than for the wedding.

Re: Is this too cutesy?

I think if you swap the belt out for something black and preferably satin and thicker, it'll make it look more formal

I am going to a wedding in Buffalo on that day too! How random would it be if it were the same one!

Most of the people at the bridal shower were in jeans, so maybe it's okay for Buffalo, but I'm guessing not for the 400+ wedding extravaganza in Philly.

Thanks!

That sounds about right to me. It's definitely cute though!

Re: Is this too cutesy?

I think it is really cute in a good way! I may not wear it to a very formal wedding because I prefer sexy over cute, but I think a 36 year old can surely pull that look off. If I wore that to a bridal shower (unless it was my own) I would be the most dressed up gal there! (again, unless it was a fancy venue)

I love the dress and would wear it myself as a 36 year old woman.
I am thinking though that if the wedding is more formal - like you say the Philly one is- I'd wear something a bit more dressy.

But for the Buffalo wedding I'd wear it.

I think the belt makes it look younger/cutesy. Can you change out the belt?

I agree with the ladies who think it's fine for Buffalo. Upstate NY weddings are an entirely different animal. Chat Icon

Re: Is this too cutesy? ETA - wanna help find me a dress?

Okay - going to wear that in Buffalo. I think it will fit in with the rest of the attire up there.

Help me find something for Philly?

I'm a size 10. Nothing fitted as my *** and belly need some "refining".

The bridesmaids are wearing a mauvy-brown tea length satin gowns.

It's on 11-11-11. It will be gaudy as all get out. My aunt-to-be is obsessed with feathers and loves Gaga.

I need ideas.

What about something like this? From Nordstrom.

Though based on the reviews it's very short. Not sure how tall you are though.

Also from Nordstrom... I really like the color of this one and it actually reminds me a little of the original dress you posted, but maybe a more grown up version of it, KWIM?

ETA: Also from Nordstrom, kinda blingy.

Also Nordstrom, drapey and blingy.

Also Nordstrom. (Also comes in black and very light silver.)
