Anyone ever have hair color stripped?
What was your experience with this and would you recommend it? I'm reading mixed reviews online. Some say, it's the worst thing to do to your hair and others say it's not that bad if you get it done at a salon.

Re: Anyone ever have hair color stripped?
why are you stripping your hair color?
I did it once and it KILLED my hair..never again..
if you're going from a drastic dark to light, instead get your hair fully highlighted to get it lighter.. do NOT strip it

I've waited a month for my dark hair color to fade. I used the clarifying shampoo and although it has faded some. It's still way too dark. So, I went to a consultation with a new colorist and she said i had two options: 1. she could strip it just a little to make it the lighter brown that I want. OR 2. I could just add highlights to my hair to lighten it up (lke you are suggesting). But I have to admit I am nervous about stripping my hair. It was dry after I colored it and now it's finally getting back to healthy. I would hate to do anything to my hair to fry it :( I'm thinking I'm going to go with option number 2!

Yes, go with option two and have her do thin highlights ALL over your entire head..
also, run out and get some L'Oreal Masquintense and start doing regular deep condtioning treatments with this..
I used to color my hair often and go from light to dark and back ALL the time and my hair would take a beating.. that stuff was the only thing that worked!
