Tylenol with Codene?
My midwife gave me Tylenol with Codene to help with the pain of the contractions because even when im not having contractions the uterine irritability is causing constant pain, I asked if she was sure it was ok to take and she said yes. The pharmacist wanted to talk to me when I picked up the script and said if I take it, it will sedate the baby, I don't want to do that...I have not taken any and have just dealt with the pain....is this not a pregnancy safe drug? Sedating the baby does not sound safe....

Re: Tylenol with Codene?
i get violent migraines and tylenol doesn't work for me (nothing does, only my heavy duty migraine drugs from my neurologist help - but they're not safe during pregnancy). my obgyn gave me tylenol with codeine and it definitely works better than regular tylenol but i try not to take it unless i'm on day two of a migraine without any sign of it subsiding. i probably took 4 or 5 pills total so far (i'm almost 30 weeks). i think it's fine in moderation.
even though it's a class c my obgyn and the pharmacist told me it's safe.

Re: Tylenol with Codene?
You are so close to the end and you still could possibly have a vaginal delivery. If you "sedate" the baby - then you probably won't see your baby til your c-section even if there was a chance your LO would come earlier - but I can't imagine being in constant pain from the uterus. Ugh...feel better
