Is it crazy of me to buy a take home outfit when I received SO many clothes??

This is a dumb question Chat Icon we recieved so mayn clothes for our LO but nothing really seems "special enough" to be his take home outfit. Well one thing but it is newborn and I am returning it (hoping I can get it in 0-3 mths).

Am I nuts to want to pick out an outfit for DS to go home in eventhough I have a ton of stuff to pick from?

I dont think so. If you dont feel there is anything special in what you have received then go ahead and buy something that means something to you.Chat Icon

Not crazy at all. I plan to buy the take home outfit, no matter what anyone ends up giving us.

Nah. DH and I did the same thing. We got sooooo many clothes, both from the shower and hand-me-downs from friends. But we thought it was kind of a fun, getting-ready-for-the-baby thing to do, to pick out an outfit ourselves.

Not crazy at all. I would want my LO's take home outfit to be something that I picked.

Not crazy at all. I did the same thing. Plus I wanted it to be something that DH and I picked out together!

NO!
not crazy at all! go for it!

what IS crazy is buying a 0-3 month take home outfit, expecting it to fit! I bought this $30 take home outfit... and it's WAYYY too big on her! STILL doesn't fit her and she's 7 weeks old!!! I brought it to the hospital and held it up to her and just laughed at the ridiculousness of it!!

Keep the newborn outfit. More then likely your DC will be in newborn clothes for at least 3 weeks. Unless you have a 9 or 10 pound baby. My DS was 7lbs 11oz when born and 7lbs 3 Oz when we left the hospital. The newborn outfit I brought was big on him. I know everyone wants to put their baby in a fancy take home outfit but I just put DS in something soft and comfortable. I didn't put a real outfit on him till about 3-4 weeks.

My 9 lb 22 inch baby fit into newborn clothes for a few weeks so even if you do have a big baby you'll probably be fine with a newborn outfit!

Nope.

I wanted to pick and purchase his coming home outfit. The other outfits get plenty of use but the CH outfit is special.
