Anyone have an exterminator come while pregnant?

I watch 3 kids at their house and they are having a big ant problem. It was concentrated in the kitchen... on the floor and in and around the sink but this morning about a half hour after I got there they were in the living room on the rug where my DS plays so I asked if I could take the kids to my house for the day since I didn't have anywhere to put my ds down to play and she said sure.

Here's the problem. She called an exterminator to come tomorrow morning. They are coming between 8 and 12. I am sure she is going to want me to stay so a stranger isn't in her house but I'm pregnant.. only 7 weeks so I don't want to chance anything. I don't want to be there with the spray. I also don't want my DS crawling around with bug spray all over.

I def don't want to be there with the spray I'm so nervous that she's going to be angry with me saying that I'm not going to stay there. She does know I'm pregnant, I told her this early just in case situations like this popped up.

I can bring the kids out to the pool or park or my house again but how long should I wait to go back to their house? I def don't want to go back tomorrow but is the next day okay?

i would call the exterminator and ask how long... and i would have all the windows open while its being done!

i had extermination done when i was 5 wks! the exterminator asked whether there would be kids and he specifically said that he wouldn't spray any room where kids might be crawling. from what he told me, you really have to evacuate the house of kids and wait awhiles to do extermination... so i think having the kids at your house would be good. you should ask the exterminator how long to wait.

I would ask the exterminator and I would call your doctor. We had an insecticide sprayed in our office last week and I could not be here for 48 hours and I'm 27 weeks. The first trimester is such a critical time, I'd definitely double check before exposing yourself to the chemicals.

We just actually had our house sprayed/dusted for carpentar ants. We had a HUGE issue.

Well I'm 31 weeks, was 30 weeks at the time. The doc told me as long as they weren't bombing I could come back home but to not be present when they did it and to go out for the entire day. They came at 11am to spray, I was already at work and I don't get home until 7:30pm. We sent DS#1 to spend the day and sleef at my parents house. I ended up not getting home until 9pm becasue after I got to Ronkonkoma I drove to my aprents house to spend time with my DS#1.

If I were you I definitely would not be there for the spraying and try not to be there the rest of the day. Maybe you can watch the kids at your house.
