Baby Names

DH and I had names picked out. Then we found out what we are having. Now he is 2nd guessing the name that we chose for a boy. I still wholeheartedly love the name and want to use it.
Problem is that it is a very unique old name. People have given DH a lot of mixed opinions about using, but more negative comments. Me, I don't care what anyone else's opinion is. So I am fine, but he is very susceptible to the influence of others.
So my question is, if you had 2nd thoughs after you found out the sex, did you still use the original name or did you change it.

this is why we don't tell anyone (my MIL cried once before I was pregnant about what we should name DC).

if it's an old name - they will make comments

if it's a new name - they will make comments

if it's a unique name - they will make comments

if it's a popular name - they will make comments


People do not make negative comments once the baby is born though!

My advice is the same as Erica's: stop telling people your name choices. Everyone will have something to say something about it now, but NO ONE will insult your cute little baby boy and his name once he's born.

I'm only 2 and a half weeks away from my due date, and still tell everyone (parents included) that we haven't picked a name yet. Whether they think I'm lying or just really lazy, I don't care; either way I avoid getting comments on the name.

We originally agreed that we were not going to tell anyone. Problem is that he decided to open his BIG mouth and tell everyone.
Next child I am not going to tell him what the names are.
