Can't take it anymore... ANTS!!!

Ok, last year I posted about ants, but they were sugar ants. Now, we have a bit bigger ants that run very fast, lol. They are all over the kitchen counter and I had to take out everything in the pantry, AGAIN and throw some stuff out. Chat Icon They keep coming out. My DH has sprayed around the house a few times, but it's not working? What is working for other people? I'm in NC, but I'm hearing that the ants are bad this year trying to get out of the heat. It's been in the high 90's-115 the past several weeks. It's so disgusting... I can't make any food without worrying about an ant crawling around. There aren't hundreds of them, but enough that I can kill a bunch and then 10 min. later they're back. They seem to be coming from the stove area? Do we need to pull out the stove and spray behind there? HELP!!! Chat Icon

I would absolutely pull out the stove and spray behind it if that is where you are seeing them coming from.

try this combo, Combine sugar with 1 tablespoon of borax and water.

Here is the article.

My mom had terrible ants all over her kitchen ( she wasnt sure what kind) and they tried this mix. She never had the ants return after leaving this mix out. She said it was gross, 1000's of ants swarmed to the plate of this mix. Then they never returned!

Those sprays suck, don't bother with that it's only a temporary fix. Ants are crazy here in FL too and last year when we noticed a lot in our kitchen we used this:

Got it at home depot I think, it's the best stuff and really works. We put globs of it on top of the cabinets and on the little cracks in the crown molding where we saw them coming in.

They SWARM it and it's really gross and hard to watch but you can't kill them. They take it back to the nest and they all die never to be seen again (until about 6 months later... then repeat).

We actually had a lot outside our house by the front door the other day so DH put a glob out there and what looked like thousands swarmed it. They all died and now we don't see any ants outside anymore.

I swear by this stuff!

Baby powder worked for us. We just poured it over the areas they were coming in from.
