Re: when to pump?
anon - I pump immediately after DD eats from both boobs (TMI - sorry). This will increase your supply and your DD will get enough. As soon as my DD pulls off the boob I pump after I burp her. A good friend of mine told me to do this if I wanted to pump so DH can take one of the feedings in the middle of the night. I usually get 1.5-3 ounces when I pump after I feed her.
Another tip, drink ovaltine. The malt in it makes your milk thicker so your baby can go longer in between feedings. My DD used to feed every hour and a half to two hours. Since I have been drinking ovaltine (w/milk) once a day she is going two and a half to three hours in between feedings. Therefore, if I pump after she eats I have a good three hours for my milk to come in after I am "tapped out".
I hope this helps.

Re: when to pump?
When I want to pump some for a bottle, I am aslo EBF'ing. I pump either 1st thing in the am after she eats when my supply is higher. I pump both boobs and usually get about 3-5 ounces.
