Bye bYe Shellac
So I thought I was hooked...until this last shellac mani. It lasted about a week and then started bubbling and peeling and fading! I was so sad. So today I soaked em off and went back to a regular mani. luckily my nails are still in decent shape!
Anyone else have similar experiences?

YES! The prep process is so important, they have to make sure they buff and clean and that there isn't any lotion on the nails, if there is the shellac doesn't stick.
Did it start to peel from the cuticle? That happens to me all the time, because my cuticles are so thick, that if they don't file around them the shellac wont sick near that area. I just will ask the girl to buff a little more around the cuticle. Or wherever you find its peeling from.

Did you just use nail polich remover to soak them off?

Re: Bye bYe Shellac
yup, i've tried it 3 times and each time it lasted at MOST 2 days before a chip.. the last time it actually started lifting from the tip of the nail and completely peeled off, each and every one!

Re: Bye bYe Shellac
I too thought I was hooked until my 3rd & 4th go round with it. With in 4 days I had chips on my 3rd time getting it. I went back to the salon and told them on day 10 and they said that "you're nails are too thin". Ummm ok being that they are stronger and thicker than ever.
I got it done for the 4th time and with in a few days again Chips and then it started to peel. I went back on day 7 and told them I just wanted a regular mani. I said on the sign it says guaranteed 14 days and it has been 7.
They tried charge me $8 for soaking it off while I had my pedicure!
I didn't know they were planning on charging $8 for 2 ounces of nail polish remover! I found out when I went to pay for my Mani-Pedi and it was too much. I got angry. I know it is $8, but I just paid $30 twice for something that did not last the last 2 times I got it. They took off the $8 and suggested I wait a month before doing Shellac again.
I am not sure I am going to get it again, unless I have some kind of big function.
I might as well have just paid for a mani and got one weekly... it would have been less $$.

Re: Bye bYe Shellac
I wonder if they are just applying it wrong.
I have had no issues with mine and I have been doing it for a few months now. This time I only made it to day 10 and then I broke a nail and that was that but I was EXTREMELY rough on my hands this past week (beach, pool, scrubbed my bathroom, did a million dishes, packed and unpacked supply boxes for work, suitcases, cleaned out a closet) and the growth is out of of control this time now I am on day 12 and it needs to come off.
I have gone three weeks.
