cali i just called rob n he legit asked if i wanted to cancel the trip (just to show how much i <3 you)..i said no, but he feels so bad
i'm going to now have to throw you a private second shower

your DH needs to step in and tell his mom and sister to STFU. It should be a shower honoring you.. and I'm so proud of you for putting SIL in her place. Don't let petty people get ruin your shower or planning it..
100% agree! Im sorry you have to deal with that, i told everyone from the beginning i wanted nothing to do with the shower except to know the date so no drama.

I'm surprised to hear this from an adult. I wasn't aware that grown ups cared so much about their "birthday weekends". Just odd to me. I would be happy to attend a shower for my new niece/nephew even ON my birthday. Maybe I'd go out with DH for dinner that night or the night before/after to celebrate my birthday.
