Not even really sure where this goes. Renting a suit for DH?
Ok, my cousin is getting married in 2 weeks up at a mansion near Newport, RI. Its on a Thursday night. Its not super fancy, but I'm sure it'll be relatively fancy. My mom was talking to my aunt and said that the groomsmen are wearing tan suits- and my mom thinks its very fine for DH to wear a sport jacket and nice pants. However, my dad always dresses to the nines. He will probably be wearing a very fancy suit cuz that's just how he rolls.
DH needs something to wear. I personally don't want to spend the money on a new sport jacket and pants for him because he'll also need a new shirt, tie, and shoes. lol. He never dresses up. His job is very casual and we really never have the need to get dressed up very often.
So, that being said- are there any places that rent suits? I was thinking of maybe going to a tux place- but he doesn't need a vest- just basically the jacket, pants, shirt, maybe a tie, and shoes.
Help!

Does he have a friend he can borrow from thats the same size? That seems like the easiest solution!

It doesnt really answer your question but DH needed a suit not too long ago so I went to JcPenny and got an awesome pin stripe suit for $40 bucks on clearance. Maybe comb some clearance sections? Kohls, JCP....?
As far as renting, I dont know if places rent suits, a tux place may but they will prob have that line down the side of the pants so it will be obvious.

To be honest, I don't think the cost difference between renting & buying is much. At least if you buy, you can hang it in the closet and break it out when he needs it, even if it is only once a year.
DH has gotten great buys at the Calvin Klein outlet in Deer Park. Also definitely check out JC Penney. And, I have no personal experience with them but those Karako commercials look interesting.

Men's warehouse also carries some cheaper lines of suits (and sometimes does a buy one get one free promo). If you think he is going to need a suit twice in his life, then buy it and don't try to rent something. A basic black suit with a crisp shirt and a nice tie can work in so many different situations (wedding, job interview, funeral, bris/chistening/other religious events, etc.).

ETA - you know how each woman should always have one great little black dress which she can wear to virtually every event? Every guy should have that nice black suit and a dress shirt and tie ready to go as well. I know it costs money up front, but if you have to rent a suit two or three times over the course of several years then you should have just bought something.

Go to Burlinton coat factory.
My DH has to wear a suit 5X a week for work and this is where he gets them all from. They have brand names for CHEAP.
DH just got a Ralph Lauren all black suit for $150. All men need at least ONE suit. He can reuse it so many times its much better than renting.

I agree. I think they even sell their rental suits for an even cheaper price.
You can also try those places off of 110 in Farmingdale. There's Karakos (not sure of the spelling) and at least one or two other places.
