Well, put it this way...mine are accidently letting him fall off the bed and accidently letting him hit his head.
The things that YOU'LL always remember you did wrong but he probably won't....

Re: How many "Guilt Book" entries do you have?
I have one.
Way back when Alex was about 6 weeks old, she was crying up a storm so I decided to put her in the baby carrier and walk around the house to calm her down. I was in the basement, where there are a few beams that are lower than the rest of the ceiling. I picked her up and raised her up with my arms so I could lower her into the carrier, and without realizing it, I banged her head right into one of the beams. She started crying HYSTERICALLY. I felt sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo horrible. She calmed down within a few seconds, but all the same...

Oh...okay. I have one.
And *almost* had a really nasty one happen today...lets just say he got a little too close to the stairs and we still don't have banisters up (remodeling work) so we haven't been able to put up the gate. Thank GOD I caught him just in time.

Too many too count probably. I've let her fall over and knock her head and I've knocked her head accidentally more times than I want to count. I always feel so guilty.

Re: How many "Guilt Book" entries do you have?
I have a few head banging incidents.
But the worst was when she was about 1 1/2 months old and I took her shopping- made about 3 stops before I realized I never buckled her in to her car seat

oh my will trying to maneuver a baby and an umbrella! I was being very careful about poking the baby with the brella and I ended up banging his head on the car door while trying to get him in.

I also forgot to buckle her in the car seat and thankfully she cried hysterically so I pulled over within 5 minutes to nurse her and noticed!!!
And when she was playing at a stand up toy I thought I smelled a poopie so I went in for the tushy smell and knocked her over with my face and she fell face first into the toy and had a bruise on her cheek bone for days....a constant reminder

Re: How many "Guilt Book" entries do you have?
There was one time we were shopping and I put her back in the car seat without buckling her and noticed as we were driving home that she was awfully low in the seat....
a few head knocking incidents, but only one made her cry.
There was one night VERY early on when I had fed her and then put her on my belly and I fell asleep and she had twisted or turned so that her upper half was hanging off me off the edge of the bed!

Julia out grew her bouncer seat, but I still would put her in it while I took a shower or got ready but couldn't strap her in cause she was to big.....well I turned for like a second and she flopped out of it and hit her head, I grabbed her so fast that I think I scared her more then anything, and she started to cry, and so did I cause I got so scared. Never put her in that again! That was the only time she hit her head.

Re: How many "Guilt Book" entries do you have?
Oh yes, I have a few more than I'd like to admit. Christopher's always been an incredibly active little boy. The one thing I feel MOST guilty about is having him circumsized last month (at 10 months old), because it was a situation I had complete and total control over. He was never circumsized in the hospital because he was "too small" and then I had to wait until he was at least 6 months old and then it had to be scheduled a couple of months in advance, etc. I hated doing it so late in the game, even though he wasn't in much pain afterwards at all. The vision of the nurses taking him down the hallway away from me to go into surgery will always haunt me.

Re: How many "Guilt Book" entries do you have?
When Nate was a about 6 weeks old, he was laying on my chest and we both fell asleep. The phone rang, startled me and Nate rolled off me onto the floor. I called my mom in NY crying abou how I dropped my baby. I didn't tell DH until Nate was almost 6 months old.

Re: How many "Guilt Book" entries do you have?
When DS was one day old (yes, we were still in the hospital) I was alone with him in the hospital bed. He was swaddled very tightly. I couldn't reach my water that was on the table so I put him down on the bed and moved over, stretched and got my water. When I turned around he was face down on the bed in the blankets! From my movement he had rolled over and he didn't make a peep and obviously couldn't move because he was swaddled so tightly. I thought I suffocated him and he wasn't even a day old yet.

Re: How many "Guilt Book" entries do you have?
We live in a cape and the upstairs rooms have slopping ceilings. I must have hit dd's head on the ceiling like 5x so far...luckily she didnt seem to notice or I was able to distract her before she started to cry.
