I've officially lost my patience with this short sale
We've been told TWICE now that "contracts are in the mail to your lawyer"...the first time they caught themselves and said "oh, we meant that they were in the mail to the SELLERS lawyer"...then on Monday of last week the listing agent told us again that the Bank sent our lawyer a contract (essentially saying that the bank accepted our offer) and that they should be in the mail that day. Well, its a week later and no contract Seriously??? I feel like they're just yanking our chain now. And it's so emotionally exhausting because we keep thinking "this is it!" only to sit for a week and hear nothing further and feel like we got our hopes up for nothing. How long will this go on for? At what point should we just walk away?
Anyone else go through this with a short sale? I mean, I've heard of things taking long with a short sale, but I didnt think the bank would play games with us. Its so disheartening.

Re: I've officially lost my patience with this short sale
I have no experience but a friend of mine did.
Her & her DH were very interested in a short sale for quite some time. And like you, between the lawyers and banks.......they were given the "ultimate" run around.
Finally.......I want to say almost a year of being involved in all of it.......they walked away from it all.
Sometimes its worth it.......sometimes its not. They can be a huge headache.

Thank you for sharing that. Its crazy that they put up with that for a year! I cant imagine...we put in the initial offer over a month ago...come to think of it it may have been over 2 months now. I know that's not very long in the scheme of short sales, and I anticipated not hearign back for much longer...its the yo-yoing that the bank is doing that's killing me. I wish they would just straight up tell us if we're not going to get it

We didn't even have a short sale and closing took 6 months (the sellers were ridiculous-didn't have COs when they said they did, didn't get permits, needed a variance... ugh!!
I hope it works out for you--I remember the roller coaster and it't not fun at all!
