It is insane how small the risk of listeria is--like someone said on another board, it is equal to being struck by lightening or hitting the lotto.

My OB said we all do 100 other things every single day that are FAR more dangerous.

My doctor said they were fine, once a week. She limits to once a week because of nitrates, and said listeria is so rare that we really shouldn't be concerned about it.

My doctor said no cold cuts but if I do eat them that usually turkey, chicken and roast beef arent bad in moderation.

my dr said that they were fine to eat, he was more concerned with nitrates so no hot dogs, etc. He's pretty laid back, but he did tell me, which really, really surprised me, was no tuna at all. This was different than why he told my a friend of mine when she was pregnant 2 years ago so some new study must have come out because he said something about FDA regulations. So bottom line, every dr is different and each has their own hang ups about different things.
