btdt moms - formula question
i have gotten so many samples and coupons for different types of formula - enfamil, good start, simalac. Some are regular and some are for gassy fussy babies
my question is can i use different brands of formulas if my DD doesnt have any issues or you have to stick to one.
Im not looking to be cheap i just wanted to know if i can use up all the samples i have before i stick to one formula

Re: btdt moms - formula question
its best to find one formula that works best and stick with that one
MOST babies start on either Enfamil and Similac (some Gerber) and only change if there is an intolerence or allergy

Re: btdt moms - formula question
if there are no issues, you can use any regular formula you want. But you arent supposed to switch around.

Re: btdt moms - formula question
My dr told me that if you switch around the first few weeks, the baby isn't going to know any better. It's just when they get older and start developing their own tastes you want to stick with one. I was concerned when they told me the hospital only uses Similac, and I want to use Earth's Best, but they said the 2-4 days the baby would be there won't make a difference, and if I'm really concerned I can bring my own and they'll use it for me.

Re: btdt moms - formula question
Winthrop is a mommys choice or what your pediatrician recommends.
I recommend the enfamil newborn b/c it is the only formula that meets the new Vit. D recommendations by the AAP (34oz to meet 400iu, newborn is only 27oz), closest to BM, and has correct DHA levels.
Good Start is not available at WInthrop

Re: btdt moms - formula question
I wouldn't switch around all the time. DS started on similac at winthrop. We did switch to the target generic within a few months because it was so much cheaper.
