anyone other ladies with ovarian cysts?

I am 14w tomorrow and at my 11w nts scan (first sono) the tech saw a big cyst on my left ovary (it was 7 inches or cm I forget which they measure in ha). The sono tech said common to develop during pg but haven't seen dr yet (tuesday is my appt). Wanted to know what ur ob said about it and if there could be any risks I should be concerned about. Also if it was still there at anatomy scan did u get extra sonos to monitor?

I have a cyst on my left ovary as well, it's 6cm. Yours is probably 7cm not inches, otherwise they'd probably do surgery on you. I get a sonogram every 4 weeks to keep an eye on it, that it doesn't have a growth spurt. My doc said it's normal and nothing of concern but they like to just keep an eye on it. I think of it as bitter sweet...bad I have a cyst but I get to see every 4 weeks!

I also have a pretty large cyst on my right ovary that the tech notices before she ever saw a yolk sac. My Dr said that it is pretty common and that it should go away by the end of the first trimester. We are also keeping an eye on it with extra sonos. My Dr. also said that if it starts to hurt so bad that i am bent over in pain and vomiting, that means I need to call him and its an emergency.

thanks ladies. I will def ask my Dr. what they typically do on Tuesday when I see her (although I am seeing the fast in-and-out lady cause she was only one with late appointments ).

I have been having pains down below in pelvic/uterus area for the past week and I am wondering if it is due to my cyst. Its not a huge pain but def bugs me at times.

Yes I get pains too...my SIL (who just had her 2nd DC last week) said its because my uterus is stretching.

i have/had such a large cyst that it caused shadowing on the baby....

the doctors didn't think it was anything special - as it had been there since the first u/s.

i've had cysts all my life - and it's the reason i was on the bcp for most of my adult life...so it wasn't a shock.

it's not a bad or good thing - but something to keep an eye on :)

Thanks ladies! Hoping I ate least get extra sonos out of it especially since last sono dr normally does is 18 weeks!!

I have a dermoid in my right ovary (have had it for a few years). Right now just monitoring it during the pregnancy, it seems to be (and has been) stable.

I had two dermoids removed in 2002 and another this one grew in 2003! Talk about bad luck. Because the surgery I had (laparatomy) was invasive and basically resulted in reconstructing my ovaries, doctors said it was best to monitor through my childbearing years as opposed to removing again.

Did they tell you what kind of cyst you have? Most go away on their own, but not dermoids.

I have one on my left ovary that makes things uncomfortable, but my doctor told me not to be alarmed by it. they just wanna make sure it doesn't grow.
