Little black ants - we are overrun - natural ways to get rid of them?

All of a sudden we are OVERRUN with them! The situation is bad. We get them every year but this is the worst yet. Aside from chemicals what can we do? I have 2 little kids and one 15 mo old that puts everything in her mouth!

Nothing we are doing is working! They are in one area but, seem to be spreading!

Borax. It is non-toxic to pets and kids, toxic only to the ants.

You can find it in the detergent aisle :


Sprinkle it around doors and windows and anywhere you see ants coming and going. You can mix it with a little sugar to entice them even more.
I use it in the house and in the garden.
